I’m a pelvic floor therapist, author & speaker who has been studying and teaching all things related to pee, poo & sex.

I come alive when I get to share the life-changing secrets of sexual and pelvic wellness.

Bio~

Dr. Lea has over 9 years of experience as a pelvic health physical therapist, treating a wide variety of conditions. She is the author of "The Day I Learned How to Use the Potty," a set of books that educate children about their bodies and help them navigate the potty learning phase to prevent pelvic floor dysfunction in adulthood.

She is passionate about urinary, bowel, and sexual health-related topics, with a particular interest in educating and preventing pelvic floor dysfunction in children and women. Her favorite conditions to treat are vaginismus, labor and birth preparation, postpartum recovery, and supporting women during perimenopause, menopause, and post-menopause.

Education~

Originally from Wady Chahrour, Lebanon, Dr. Lea graduated from Antonine University, Baabda, with a B.S. in Physical Therapy in 2009. She then pursued her Master's degree in Physical Education from the University of Balamand, Koura, in 2013, and earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Saint Joseph University, Achrafieh, in 2015.

During her doctorate degree, Dr. Lea traveled to the US and was accepted for an internship in pelvic health at Texas Children’s Hospital. She furthered her education in pediatric and women's health through extensive training with the American Physical Therapy Association.

Driven by her passion for urinary, bowel, and sexual health-related topics, Dr. Lea is dedicated to educating and preventing pelvic floor dysfunction in children and women. She has given numerous conferences to obstetricians, urologists, pediatricians, and gastroenterologists, shedding light on the importance of pelvic floor rehabilitation as an alternative to medication or quick fixes like kegel exercises.

Expertise~

In 2014, Dr. Lea opened the first pelvic floor therapy clinic named WoMen's Therapy in Beirut, Lebanon, providing care for children, women, and men seeking help for pelvic floor dysfunction. Through her work, she aimed to introduce and normalize pelvic health in the Middle East, where awareness was previously limited. Dr. Lea gained media attention with her appearance on the Doctors show, where she discussed erectile dysfunction and raised awareness about men's pelvic health, emphasizing that anyone with a pelvis can experience pelvic floor dysfunction.

After marrying her husband, Dr. Lea moved to the US and began working with Genesis PT. She is now working remotely, providing online consultations to patients worldwide, especially those in the Middle East who don't have access to a Pelvic Floor therapist nearby. She also conducts live integration group coaching sessions, empowering and supporting women through every stage of life.Outside of her profession, Dr. Lea enjoys engaging in outdoor adventures, practicing yoga, traveling, and embarking on road trips with her husband and daughter.

Her approach~

Using a holistic approach, she offers treatment for children and adults who suffer from pelvic floor issues, including constipation, urinary/fecal incontinence, and sexual pain. She focuses on treating the whole person and understanding the underlying issues, including emotions, relationships, and other factors that may be impacting your health.

Many people choose to live with discomfort until they can no longer bear it. If this describes you or someone you love, don't wait! Seek counsel from a pelvic floor professional today!

Mission~

In her effort to break the stigma surrounding pelvic health, Dr. Lea has established a safe and judgment-free community. This community provides a platform for open conversations about topics that have been shamed by parents, society, and culture for years. From addressing bedwetting, period pain to sexual pain, incontinence and the changes that occur during pregnancy, postpartum, and menopause, Dr. Lea aims to dismantle this stigma and help individuals restore their pelvic floor.
