FAQ
-
Your appointment will be entirely one-on-one with Dr. Lea, lasting between 45-60 minutes. The session will comprise a full body assessment, manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, neuromuscular re-education, and patient education for home treatment. No biofeedback machines or Kegels will be prescribed.
-
Some patients are discharged after a single session, while others require 3 to 5 sessions.
This is based on individual circumstances, including how long you have had your symptoms, the nature of the treatment, personal goals, and other recovery factors. We start with a comprehensive evaluation followed by the necessary amount of follow-up sessions.
The most important session is the first one, to figure out the root cause and give you a personalized treatment plan!
-
Internal pelvic floor work is only performed with your full consent.
No internal exams are conducted on children. If you're uncomfortable with an internal exam, we can opt for an external one, using exercises and other tools. The patient always has control, and informed consent is our priority.
-
Absolutely!
You're welcome to attend your therapy session during your period unless you're uncomfortable doing so. We can also conduct effective treatments that do not involve internal pelvic floor work.
-
Wear comfortable clothing suitable for movement and exercise.
-
Online consultations start with a review of your medical history, followed by a self-assessment of your breathing, jaw, thoracic and hip mobility, and potentially pelvic floor.
Ensure to wear comfortable clothes and be on your yoga mat in a private room.
From the self-assessment, we provide a suitable treatment plan and exercises. An optional internal pelvic floor assessment can be done with the video off, offering deeper understanding of your body.
Understanding the root cause of your condition and offering an appropriate home exercise treatment plan is crucial.
